About

Alcoholics Anonymous Area 70 covers the entire state of Vermont.  The Area Committee is comprised of its officers: Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Finance, Delegate, and Alternate Delegate; the 11 District Committee Members; standing committees that more or less mirror the Conference Structure: Archives, Convention, Literature and Grapevine, Meeting List, Public Information and Cooperation with the Professional Community (PI/CPC), Registrar, Service Information, Treatment and Accessibility, and the Website.

There are no Intergroups or Central Service Offices in Vermont and the Area 70 Committee performs some functions often done by those service organizations.

The Area is comprised of 11 Districts within the state.  District 2 which is Burlington proper and District 11, the surrounding towns, share a website and Hot Line number but maintain 2 distinct district organizations.

Most districts maintain their own Hot Line number.  Some are handled by answering services that relay information to volunteers.  Others may have calls go directly to volunteers.

In order to assist districts and groups with literature needs, the Area maintains a small stock of basic books and works to coordinate district orders in order to get better order and shipping prices.

The Area holds 7 monthly Area Committee Meetings (ACM) in Randolph, VT and 4 Full Area Assemblies (FAA) that rotate through the districts.  The Pre-Conference Sharing Session may be held in conjunction with a Full Area Assembly in March.  All interested AAs are welcome to attend.

An annual Vermont AA Convention is held in April.

Please check the event calendar for more information on when and where service meetings are scheduled.
